I’m like huh still confused for two weeks to get out but on the other side of the house , our roommate punched a girl while drunk arguing about politics, the whole restaurant knew the manager loved that shit but he still remains living here lmao .. am I too sensitive ..?no just unfair because we put in all our time to work this shitty food restaurant..&&&&& the manager ever since he got brought up into management we have yet to have our check on time.
GigWage is a payroll processor that I get paid through for one of my side hustles. Starting in February, they're going to charge $2 per pay period where you earn money. The company I gig for is already paying them for their services. Why are they double dipping by charging me? Is this legal? How the f*** can someone charge you to get paid when you have no say in how you're being paid?
I work at an entertainment facility in arizona, usa. For the past 2 days our only bathroom at one of our two buildings has been out of order, but my boss still wants me to work a whole shift at this building. The stop in water service they say has something to do with some construction next door. I dont want to work a whole shift here if I can't use the bathroom, we have another building that the bathroom is working at but it's a walk and I'm here by myself. Is this illegal? Nobody knows when it's going to be fixed or is even for sure what is causing it. I've already had a customer ask to use the rest room and I had to send them to the bar across the street. Any perspective or opinions on this?
I don't like work at all, but hard work is despicable. Good move!
It’s not going to work …
It’s staying at work for 8 hours.
We use an app at work where we can track our schedules and see any changes. Thing is, the app never notifies me and I occasionally go and check if there have been any changes. Twice or thrice now, there has been shifts extended or added to my schedule without prior notice. I gently told my boss to please just give a heads up before making major changes (I’m a full time student) and he hasn’t. Is this an ok and normal thing to do at work? I’m young and haven’t had much working experience prior.
Lost raise because of socks.
The post about the mushroom socks reminded me of when I worked for the store with a “that was easy” button. I used to wear funky, mismatching socks to work every day, you couldn’t see them because my pants were long enough. I was friends with my manager and showed him one day. He thought it was hilarious and asked to see them everyday and we used to laugh about what ridiculous socks I was wearing. One day he asked in front of another manager and said, “Don’t worry, Jody is cool.” so I showed them and went about my day. My review comes around and Jody was doing it, when it came to my uniform conformity she docked me for not wearing black socks! Oh yeah, Jody’s cool. She was quietly fired for stealing a few months later but good thing she kept my raise to 10 cents an…
Quit over Text Message
Can I send a respectful message over text? I don’t even think my boss deserves 2 week tbh My manager keeps scheduling me one day per week (and only on weekends). But then she will try to call me in (last minute) 7 days per week. She says “someone called out, you need to come in now from 3pm – 11pm”. Literally EVERY DAY. Even if someone doesn’t call out and they just need extra help she expects ME to drop everything and just come in. Like I’m on call 7 days a week. I said yes three times last week and no twice. A couple managers were ignoring me when I came in and only acknowledging my coworkers existence as a form of “punishment” for me not coming in and taking hours to respond to this text. I think this behavior is very petty. You know I want fewer…
Long and ranty and probably boring, sorry! Tl;Dr title Talking at work yesterday, I recounted two incidents where employees were either worried about or actually in some way penalized for vehicular accidents that were clearly in no way their fault. The most recent, I tapped the bumper of a large work truck, and the driver couldn't see any damage, so he didn't want to report it because it would go on his safety record. The older one was my father. He was outside of his truck, which was properly parked and coned, and a speeding driver crossed the line and three lanes and pinned him to his truck. His very large and well known telecommunications company employer gave him the first “points” against his clean-for-twenty-years safety record. One of my coworkers looked at me and said, “That is not true. That did not happen.” I asserted that it was in…
