So I'm a union laborer I do asphalt so I depend on overtime and hours since I'm on unemployment for 3 to 4 months out of the year. So one day at work I went to get a drink because I've been jackhammering in 90+ degrees for 4 hours straight. Me the foreman should be aloud to go get my guys something to drink and the superintendent decided to start screaming at me in front of my workers, the city inspectors in a residential area that I was lazy and to get more work done because he wants to be off literally early eniugh for happy hour at his drinking hole. then a few minutes I get a call from the project manager saying if I don't get more work done im fired and that he heard I wasn't working at all. Today my manager reached out to the entire team (10 people) asking to contribute money to a gift card for our CEO. The gift card was for one of his “favorite” restaurants which is a steakhouse in the city, which is quite spendy, and which the majority of the staff can not afford to eat at. Either we can send $20 to my manager (he’s the 2nd most senior person at the company) or our name will not be included on the card that goes with the gift. I was honestly shocked that this was asked of us. Last year none of us recieved a Christmas bonus, and we’re given 2 pieces of company merch and an AirTag as a company gift. Police arrested the shoplifter for robbery because she shoved into me on the way out, I was apparently being a danger to my coworkers by asking her to take her items to the front. My boss is a coward who knew about this for weeks, then fired me as I ask for a Transfer. Fuck corporations man

is it legal for my boss to refuse me my break if i want to take it later than he said to? hi, im 18yo F. ive been working at my first ever job since october. I work everyday. On monday and friday I work 10am till 6pm . for the rest of the week, i work  10am till 5pm my boss said i must take my break everyday at 1pm. I would rather take my break at 2 or half 2 bcoz of my anxiety. taking my break at 2 or later lessens my anxiety / stress as the day feels like its gone much quicker. not to mention taking my break at 1pm feels way too fast into my shift. my boss doesnt like me taking it any time after 1, and he has said if i take it after 1 again I will not be allowed a…

i don't know if this is alright to post but i'm tired of the cycle of working retail jobs that i hate less than a month into. i want to have time to learn a skill and actually do something more with my life but it hasn't been possible with a 40 hour work week in a concrete box. is there any option for WFH jobs? i'm autistic as well so more socially demanding jobs are difficult but i'll take anything that isn't what i've had to do.

This is my first real job out of college and it’s with a small family business. I’ve been there a few years now and not until last month did I realize that I’m allotted sick and vacation days. Last month the owner told me this, so I’ve been trying to figure out what to do from here. I was very sick a few times this and last year and did miss a lot of work (this is easily documented with hospital visits). He told me that my unused vacation days can’t be rolled over but I’m hoping I can at least recover my sick days. Any help is greatly appreciated.
