I've worked in security for almost a year and a half now as a normal security guard. I felt like I was the best at it. Never called in always came in on time and even picked up a bunch of extra shifts. One of my managers who is leaving for a better high-paying job recommended me for her position. She started grooming me to become the next FTO/lead. Letting me train people conducting orientation, helping the newer hires doing managerial stuff. Because at that time I was the only one capable and had the drive to do it everybody on the shift of 13 people was rooting for me and wanted me to become the newest FTO I haven't had a negative review from anybody I was well liked by everybody. All the rich people allways attending some concerts – galas – dinners – speeches – when do they work? Not to mention their vacations or cruises or “business meetings/travels”…. I'm going to use this place for advice or just for diary /planner posts since I think most people on here are reasonable and/or smarter individuals. I am in my early 20s. You are welcome to share thoughts. I work 15 hrs a week and I'm living with family, get paid 550 every two weeks. I don't want to go to college or really work that many hours. Is this acceptable? If my cost of living was basically paid for, how much money should I be making or saving? I know it's up to me based on what I want to spend/my lifestyle, but roughly, for an average life, if I wanted to afford just a couple things like subscriptions or whatever, what's the absolute minimum I could make yearly? America’s about to possibly default on loans for the economy this week. We’re gonna hit our debt limit again. Resulting in negative impacts on the economy resulting with increases in interest rates & inflation. The stock market will fall. The U.S. is a hostile work environment to begin with. Furthermore, Investments will considered bad & unsafe. U.S. credit rating will be downgraded in the events of defaults. What needs to change?

Long story, but I need some advice. I work for an independent Hotel. Last night around 2am this lady came down, under the influence of something. Her breathing was slowed, glasses falling off her face, looking like she was in a daze. She came up to the front desk and put a prescription bottle on the desk, slowly trying to explain that someone came into her room and went through her luggage and stole her meds, because they were all missing. I told her I would make a report for my managers, and they can try to help her in the morning. She then said, that it was life threatening, and she would die. TLDR: Uncles boss refuses to pay his crew for any driving time and has been doing this for over a year. My uncle works for an electrical company. I found out today his boss refuses to pay him and his crew for driving time. They have been doing this over a year, driving at least an hour and a half and sometimes three hours daily to job sights. He bought my uncle a gift for Xmas (around 1k) and said “You’ve made me so much money this year, I wanted to give back to you.” I did the math and at minimum he has taken at least $5000 worth in driving time over the course of the year from just my Uncle, not including the rest of the crew. There are many reasons I want to leave. But I'll tell you about the one I just found out today. Essentially, when people come in to euthanise their pet we have memorial items they can purchase. These are provided from another company, but we provide this option as a service so they don't have to track it down on their own if they want it. The other day the prices just went up on these items, and honestly they were already outrageously priced. But now everything is even more expensive (think $120 for a clay paw print). And that's not even the worst price. I just found out today that our hospital sets the prices. I'm disgusted. I'm pissed. I'm so done with this place. I'm going to start looking for new jobs on my next day off. Because that is disgusting practice.
