Felt pretty dam good to let them know today was my last day. Fuck giving a two weeks notice. I just waited till the end of the day and told HR that it was my last day. Lady tried to guilt trip me into staying for 2 weeks but given that the last two people who put in their 2 weeks notice were told to just leave there was no way I was gonna bother with that. (long rant) This company sucked ass. They underpaid their workers and targeted minorities to work for them because they knew they could under pay them. 75% of the people working there were Vietnamese, and 20% were Mexican (they specifically advertised jobs in Vietnamese newspapers around the area) and would tell you if you wanted more money to go somewhere else. Literally, our HR lady during training told us, “This place isn't going to…
Rejection emails piss me off.
If you are going to send me a email for an interview and then reject me the next day. What's the fucking point? Send me an interview if you're actually gonna hire me. Stop wasting my fucking time.
I am a 19 year old and I’m tight for cash. I work in the cafe industry and therefore the wages and working conditions aren’t the best. I work at a sub minimum wage rate (I’m UK based and this is totally legal due to my age) and I’ve worked day in day out since September. My employer wants me to work 50+ hours per week, so I decided to look around to see other cafe options, with some offering 11 hours 4 days a week + midnight shifts as required. Any advice on how to survive this?
I graduated with a useless degree, history. Been stuck in retail for 2 years since I graduated. Kinda want to know what options exist
I have worked in hotels for quite a few years and more recently noticed that a lot of people in hotels housekeeping to front desk and resturaunt hostesses are all Argentinian. They are the new minority exploited for labor often from agencies and having no papers and often being paid below market rate which is inherently predatory within itself. A hotel I left an overnight desk agent from an agency was being paid 15 while from the actual company was closer to 20 an hour. The last job I worked my replacement also from an agency makes 14 while agents directly employed I believe are either at 16/17. Even with these poor increases in salary hotels are not full staffed and are more empty then ever. I hope the trend continues and pushes these business to pay more or go out of business. Does any one notice these trends in…
Applied for a job at a doggie daycare and got an email back from them saying they loved my resume and asked if I could do a phone interview the next day at 11am. I said yes that works and they replied great, talk to you tomorrow. I spend the rest of the night and next morning getting ready for the interview and putting of all the stuff I had planned on doing. Then 11 comes and goes and I don't hear from them, I think maybe they're busy and will call soon enough. 45 minutes goes by and I haven't heard from them so I send an email asking if we were still doing the interview that day. 2 more hours goes by and still nothing so I email again. It has now been 3 days and not a single word from them. Really pisses me off because I…
