The corporate rat race in dance form
My job is super easy, and I don't really do anything all day. I work from home and just chill out. It's great and I want to keep living the dream. But now my boss is asking me for a list of tasks I perform every day. Help me not lose this job. What are some creative ways to make it seem like I do stuff?
So, my best friend has a typical crappy Wearhouse job. He has degrees in game design and CAD. He's been applying to every software game design job there is, on top of that several jobs that require CAD. (Many industries use CAD.) So he gets a call back from X company, come in for an interview. (Finally, a well-paying job that my degrees come into play.) He gets a haircut/shave, buys new shoes and a really nice suit. Nails the first interview. Ok they will call him in three to four weeks for the 2nd round of the interview. 2nd Interview comes around, he's fresh cut/shaved, nice shoes and suit. They have him perform some strange test that has him multi-tasking three or four tasks at once. They said he did great. We'll call you for a final interview in two to three weeks. Three weeks goes by AND, BOOM!…
I drove about 300 miles round trip, spent near $100 to be a fill interview. Absolute gut punch.
still a work in progress and need to change a ton of things but thought this sub might appreciate it, i dunno. sorry if this type of post is not allowed, just trying to get it out there. from tough customer interactions to management/billionaire owners cost-cutting and app-ifying things i thought some folks in here might like it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pmsDZRDGJbbx3jkevQfiXg21U21aly9x/view?usp=sharing
GFS Gordon food service
Why is GFS so opposed to unions? During our orientation HR said any talk about unions is immediate termination. Keep in mind this place is a sweat shop… in peak season we worked 14-16 hr shifts then had to come in the next day… I know some food service companies have unions like Sysco and US foods.
How to Give a 2-Week Notice Responsibly?
I’m a 28F, and I’m planning on giving my first 2-Week notice in a couple of days. I had been a part-time sales associate for 2 years before getting promoted to coordinator. However, I got an accidental foot injury on the job a couple weeks in. I tried to go to work after that, but I was in too much pain and I had to stay off my foot for 10 weeks. The company has covered my medical expenses, but they didn’t reimburse 72% of my paychecks due to me not meeting 1/3 of their requirements. But I went back to work anyway on part-time for the last 5-6 weeks with a walking boot on. I still need help even now with some things but not everything. However, my injury has taken too long to heal for the company to tolerate (despite it being a work-related injury). And as a…
