I work part time two days a week at my server job, and mainly take care of our near 1 year old primarily. My husband works at Chic-Fil-A. He’s in training to become a store operator/ training manager for the BOH. He started not too long ago. Today, he found out he had been written up for not having proper pants on. I have a degree and manager experience. She offered me a job for a lovely 8$ an hour. I told her about my degrees and manager experience. She told me it doesn't matter and that everyone from her company starts from the bottom. She was actually offended I laughed in her face and walked away. Oh! She also noticed I was Hispanic and mentioned how a lot of my kind were working there. Jeez.

I accepted a job offer and put in my 2 weeks notice. Except the holidays are coming up so technically it's not fully 10 business days but 14 calendar days. My boss was pissed that I “tried to pulled a fast one on her” for that but I just wanted to leave ASAP. It would end up being 3-4 weeks notice if I delayed it and I desperately want out. My boss denied my 2 weeks notice saying it wasn't even 10 business days and I can be pursued legally for breach of contract by not providing enough notice. She went on to say even a full 2 weeks isn't enough and I should be providing 4 weeks or better yet 8 weeks like my coworker. Getting fed empty promise after empty promise. Should i even work at this point? Our job is 55 hr weeks with being on call the weekends. Hunger drivers me even angrier and makes me even more radical. It awakens the mind. This capitalist system should be destroyed in its entirety, and we will eat the rich because we have to.
