So, in many countries, whistleblowing on a company can get your rewarded, AND protected from retribution. This isn't the case everywhere, unfortunately, and what constitutes “retribution” can be hard to prove. There are many non-whistleblower reasons people might face retribution for quitting or taking lawful job action, too, and often workers have very little recourse. Here's my experience: I gave four weeks notice at my last job. Yes. That was WAY more than they deserved (I did it for the people who reported to me, not for them). I will use “they” pronoun to protect the glorious person's identity. I have one superior (PA, not AM) at the Amazon building I work who is actually one of the good ones. When I take overtime, they're always willing to help and you can bullshit for a minute no problem. As long as you try- they understand and have no problem excusing time off task. They actually spoke out in an all-hands meeting proclaiming the absurdity that: trainers, order picker drivers, and forklift drivers in our building all get the same pay as people on the floor while having the burden of greater responsibility. Our building has issues finding staffing for pit operations but only offers 5upt every month if you operate a truck for 40hours, so not the biggest incentive. I was just running my budget, and, yall, we are all so fucked it's not even funny. I work a good job. I'm salary. I make about 2, 311 dollars a month after insurance, and it's still not enough. I'm luckier than the average person. My home is paid for, my car is paid off, but I'm still just barely squeaking by every month and this is absolutely ridiculous. I've promoted myself twice within 15 months, doubling my salary. Why? How? I'M THE ONLY APPLICANT. I just interviewed for a job where I didn't even meet half the qualifications. I was offered the job on the spot after the first interview. Why? A combination of no other prospects and desperation. My antiwork self is marching down the avenue of victory following after the sweet stink of corporate desperation. Hope this helps.

I don’t know if this is a generational thing, but more often than not, my parents will defend my employers. It doesn’t matter if I’m on the verge of a heart attack, working Thanksgiving, or struggling to function. Is this a product of my mom and dad’s generation? When they stayed at an office for 25 years, and never questioned that hey, maybe the CEO didn’t have their best interests at heart? My mom’s reaction was the cliche “well, every job sucks.” I don’t know what to do anymore because I need this job, but it’s killing me every day. My self-care is the in the garbage.

I create an alter ego name and leave a really bad review on Google Maps. Indeed and Glassdoor. One of the companies I worked for a long time ago created a whole new listing on Google Maps just because of my bad review. Even though 16 former employees liked it. LOL I tell people to avoid this company and other true things. I do not tell lies besides my alter ego name. Always 100% truthful with my negative review. Especially have gone after staffing agencies where I live because staffing agencies are really bad here in my state. Lack of professionalism, are not 100% honest with people looking for work and are jerks to you. They just want a body for the job and do not care if you like the job or not.
