Fired for my illness being undiagnosed…

So this happened a couple months ago but I need somewhere to vent and this feels like a good place. So I worked for an Ama*on subsidiary called Hyve Solutions, they build custom server networks so its pretty precise and detailed work. The place is an understaffed shitshow and the hours are basically torture, but hey, it pays well, so I grin and bear my 4am alarm for 8 months. I started having some fairly serious health issues (causes unknown) and ended up in hospital 4 times in the following 6 months (being kept in multiple nights). 2 MRi scans, 1 ct, x-rays and a shit-ton of blood tests later, nhs still don't have a clue what's wrong but by this point I'm almost 40lbs underweight and understandably stressed ( I'm 6ft 4 and weighed just under 9 stone) Specialist advises me to take a holiday, so I go through…

Minsan gusto ko na lang maging pusa..

Gusto ko maging pusa ni Taylor Swift. My cat is the reason why I work. Para maypambili ng cat food. My cat is my kid. My cat is spoiled af. My cat is my happiness. I feel happy whenever I see my cat na busog from the cat food and treats. Or when my cat snuggles beside me.

it’s little things like this that make new management potentially a nightmare

Just for fun, my fiancé and I bartend at this local craft beer place on saturdays. We have a pretty small town with few options for entertainment, so we were up there a lot so we decided hey, why don't we get paid if we're going to be up here all the time? Our normal jobs are her being a teacher and me being the IT guy for the school district. We have worked there for 6 months now. Recently, we have been in the process of ownership change. We just threw them a going away party last Friday. It was the first Saturday of ownership change and to say the new manager micromanages would be an understatement. Comes up there once or twice a shift just to check on us like we haven't been working unsupervised for months. The first thing she did as new manager was take away…

You’re going to increase productivity and you’re going to be happy about it. No questions!

A friend of mine works for a company that rolled out increased productivity standards last week that had to be put into place by this week. My friend showed me some emails he and his coworkers sent his managers asking questions about specifics on how to implement the new standards AND offering some solutions to some of the problems the company already knew would be hindrance to the rollout and hadn't solved yet. No one in the department is happy about the changes but everyone has accepted it's going to happen so the workers figured they'd offer these questions/ideas to make the rollout as smooth as possible for their own sakes. My friend told me he and his coworkers were called into the manager's office on Monday to be told that their “negativity” about the productivity change was impacting department morale, they were being insubordinate, they couldn't expect management to…

Called in to work sick, said i would be okay with a mask.

Im {M18} working at a chicken restaurant. I’ve been sick with bronchitis for the past 2 days, and today i have a work shift. I called my work up, told them i had bronchitis, and that i was too weak to come in. My boss said « you’ll be fine with a mask ». I didn’t want to argue because i knew i wouldn’t win, but it just fucking sucks.

So I got a reprimand yesterday

I work for a major bank, I do member resolution and helpline stuff, which basically means that I deal with everyone from the worst Karen you can imagine to the sweetest old lady who just wasn't helped properly… or the brand new agent who just doesn't understand a regulation and needs some guidance. It's not my 'true passion' (I write novels, that's what I love to do and will do till I die), but it does offer consistent pay, plus, honestly, I don't 'hate' the work. I do see real value in what I do because I can genuinely help people. Everything from refunding fees to educating people on avoiding scams, I take my job seriously because people depend on the bank to do the right thing, and while this one is pretty good about it, sometimes its various departments drop the ball. I had somebody on the line last…

Got wrote up for ‘quiet quitting’

Divisional head from UK came to visit our office in India. I already work just above average as there’s a 2% difference between my bonus and the one who slogs. As usual, everyone was busy flattering him and he was going talking to the teams one by one. I was asked why I don’t know what other teams are doing and not keenly helping them. I said I am not paid enough for it and work well in my team. I was called into a meeting and got into an arguement with our local team manager and partner. They were flabbergasted that someone replied in negative to the divisional head. Anyway, I was put on PNP and mandatory ‘sensitivity’ training. Little do they known I have other offer lined up. I will remain non-compliant to the end. PS: The company is among Fortune 200.

Found this beauty on the way to work. Thought you might chuckle at this, I know I did.
