I am now back at my old job as CNA, for which the pay is okay. Now and then we'll work 12-hour shifts sporadically, just as long we get 36 hours in total. At first, it didn't seem like a bad idea… until our schedule creator decided to have me do 4 twelve-hour shifts in a row without warning. After the 3rd night, I started to get angry at co-workers who were downright lazy. Some of them would pass off tasks to others, such as myself, while some would sleep on the med floor. It was due to this that the majority of the nurses and patients had asked me to do certain tasks. Ab a year and a half ago I worked at a certain americanized taco chain and about six months into working a new employee was hired: Shane. Shane was a crazy conspiracy nut who was racist antisemitic homophobic transphobic antivax anti homeless basically fucking insane and he constantly harassed the female workers specifically the younger ones like me (18f at the time) and my work friend (17f at the time). Ok so I was venting to my parents because I was doing a favor for a different department and they didn’t get me the material I needed til 6 pm and still expected me to turn it around and finish the same day. (I’m an accountant for a private company). I vent to my parents, but still worked til 8:30 pm got 3/4 of the work done and then a miracle happens my internet provider had an outage and I received notice they will be out til 10 pm. I message to the coworker and stated that I got the 3/4 work done but since I received it so late, and due to the outage I’m picking it up tomorrow morning. Last month my bosses changed my schedule so I'd no longer have two days off in a row until we find a replacement. The problem is finding a replacement has been nearly impossible, every potential person we interview is either a bad fit or falls through. I brought this up to my manager and he said he'll bring it up with the next meeting with the owners. Other than that, theres nothing he can do. I'm intimidated to go to the owners saying I need my weekends back but it's the only way I can get my weekend back. Getting two days off in a row shouldn't be something I have to be begging weeks for. The fact I'm working for a company that is making me go through this has been beyond irritating. Work took away our stat days so that we no longer get the day off with 12 hours pay. (we only work 12s.) Now they want us to work the stat day and also only get 8 hours stat pay, even though we are still here for 12. I mentioned in passing the supervisor to a coworker “oh fuck that I'm just can no call no show the sunday than.”.

My company had us sign a paper tonight stating we are no longer allowed to have our phones out in the office because “You guys record stuff that goes on in the office”. I obviously know bathrooms and other areas where there is an expectation of privacy is a no go. Can my employer legally tell me I cannot record video in the offices common areas? I am in Florida if that helps.

I (19F) am eight days into this full time fast food job. I am getting paid $16.55/hr, the minimum wage where I work. One of my managers, A (30M), made a comment about how I should smile at them (the staff) more. I’ve been dealing with my teeth for a bit, scheduled all my appointments to coincide with time off work. I’ve not had a left canine for about a week, I work for the capital police. It’s been so cringe for me— got an appointment to fix—- no, sorry. how dare you! I’m actively looking for any sort or work in northern Canada because I’ve never been so embarrassed and angry that I couldn’t sleep.

I need to rant about my day, it was the worst I've had in a very long time. It's going to be very whiney, angry, and probably hard to understand until after I edit it a few times, so if you don't need that in your life right now, you've been warned. My job involves doing out-doors manual labor with heavy-ish machinery. The company I work for is small, just a few senior field technicians and we hired new guys so that each technician gets a helper.
