Long story I fell off my bicycle 3 weeks this sat. I broke my elbow at the point have titanium plate with 2 screws. I got out of the er that sat around 11 called work to let them know I wouldn’t be next day or awhile as I broke my elbow. Had surgery that following Wednesday. I started Occcupational therapy last week got my disability forms signed so waiting for disability. My bookkeeper who keeps records is asking my girlfriend who works there to ask me for stuff such as DRs notes which is against my HIPPA rights. My produce manager who’s a cocky selfish MFer is pissed I didn’t call him despite the store telling him my message. For some reason he wants a person call and attacking my GF for it who works cut fruit. He can call me himself as he has my number. There’s been…
I am done with the damage this job has done to my mental and physical health.
Conspired against
A lower level supervisor trying to get me (their superior) fired. The background to this is I actively advocated for this person to get promoted to their position.I checked in several times with this person when I noticed their demeanor change. I assumed it was due to burnout and when I brought it up, I held them while they cried to me. I got them their favorite candy and left a note of encouragement. When my superior was being hard on this person, I fought for them and showed them empathy, even though their performance was severely lacking. I made sure our other coworkers included them in outings to make sure they didn’t feel ostracized. I can admit my faults, I am not good with time management. I’m late everyday. But I also make up for the time by staying late or shortening my breaks. I have stayed at the…
Why do many interviews
Here's a screenshot of our exchange in Teams where he tries to threaten me with HR intervention for not being in my call queue exactly at 9AM. Spoiler alert: I never heard a peep from HR lol
I was scheduled off the first three days of this pay period, then got the flu and was out sick for my next four shifts. Started to feel better and my partner got diagnosed with COVID, and now I’ve tested positive too (though I am feeling fine). By the time I’m comfortable breaking quarantine to go back to work, I’ll have missed a week and a half of a two week pay period. I already only work part time because I’m disabled (I have a b.sc in physics, so I work in retail of course ) so I don’t have PTO. How is it that this is the way this system works? Im super lucky to not have rent to pay, but what if I had rent, kids, etc? I know this isn’t any monumental realization but it’s just insane. I AM hopeful for the future of labor action but…
just gonna put here that my workplace makes sure that anyone with a disability cannot work there with the physical requirements of the job and definitely any employee that may use mobility aids cannot access the bathroom, of which the entrance looks like that on an almost daily basis. if you happen to have an invisible chronic illness at my job, you're out of luck since you're forced to work partially outdoors during the summer and in a metal building, with the a/c going out at least once a week. the temperature on the thermostat has risen even higher than what was pictured before anyone gave a crap enough to think about fixing the a/c, and even then it was never about the employees or their safety. no one is permitted to sit down on the clock and there is constant camera surveillance from the managers and corporate to ensure…
My poor (and I mean literally) friend works tooth and nail at this Cheesecake Factory and she’s been there for years. I know she makes shit money but she still try’s to talk herself up. She’s not fooling anyone. Its just crazy to see someone who did so tremendously better then me in school be at much an attainable position as server at a mediocre restaurant. Sure it’s high standards for the area but come on. This is what 26 year olds are bragging about. A lousy compliment from your boss. We need to do better, we know we deserve better.
