Reading about the French Revolution as well as watching “The Scarlet Pumpernickel” has led me to conclude that violent revolution can Fuck Right Off!! I get that people get bent out of shape and upset at their standing in life but murder for the sake of whatever “revolution” or “cause of the day” is where I count myself out. So very long story short, I work at a law firm. I'm a demand writer, and there is a big office where all the writers work in. I've been in this position the longest, and I guess you could say there maybe is a little bit of respect because I went through HELL with some coworkers and crazy managers and never quit because I needed the money. I was hired onto this company two months ago. We usually do large/luxury weekend rentals. I get paid 18hr. There are seemingly a lot of problems w this company. I get paid an extra $10 for transportation per day, but some of the cleans I'm driving more than an hour and a half round trip which is more like $20+ in gas. Not just that. Today BossLady put me on a residential clean!!! It is disgusting. Everything in the kitchen covered in grease and food splatters, spills and so much moldy food in the fridge. Not enough sheets to complete the clean. They left $160 cash and I wasn't sure what it was for but my boss said it's for her when I'm not even making $60 on this clean. Based in the US of course. We got married recently and I took time off from work. My job didn't care because there is a lot of empathy from my bosses and company for these types of things. My new husband unfortunately didn't get a lot of time off. He was given two days before and two days after the wedding. His boss told him that he needed to 'perform better' to get more days off. I've been with my company for 2 years, we recently undergone a big internal change. This added more responsibility to my job description with the opportunity to learn more things for more pay. For a long time the only other guy who'd been there for 5 years, and had past training opportunities on the new skill that I'm trying to learn. So they gave him training first since he would learn it faster. Therefore we'd be less swamped to be able to take more time to train me. We are now at that point yet I haven't got training at all. Heres where it gets fucky I was told that I would be learning this new skill but all the while my productivity was still being tracked and counted against me. So, I have like 10+ years in call center experience and got hired about 5 months back at a 'collections' call center that is a law firm that handles it. The first thing I thought was odd is that the agents had zero metrics to meet. I mean literally no stats whatsoever. Next was the way they promoted and hired, it seemed to be only experience based needed to move around unless they liked you. But, I digress in used to call centers I didn't really care.
