Romania – How to get fired?
The company I work at had a few rounds of lay-offs. My colleagues that were layed-off received a good compensation package. My manager has been layed-off and I am now expected to do all the work. I am currently going to interviews and I plan on leaving as soon as I get the chance, but I would really prefer being layed-off if that means also getting a severance package. Do you have any tips for me?
If i ask my current boss/supervisor they’ll know im applying for jobs! Makes no sense! What if I’ve only had one job or if I’ve been in my current job for several years??
How generous, what a hero.
So, 100 years ago some rich kid decided he'd be oh so generous and allow us plebeian, less than, workers a whole TWO days to not generate wealth for them and that's how we got the 5 day work week. But, in reality, only because they thought it'd be more profitable. And that comment from Henry… It's obvious we as people, our whole lives are just revenue streams to them. So, in the last 100 years we've received a 14% increase in the amount of our lives we get to spend on ourselves and our families. Meaning about 70% still goes to them. And unless some “generous” wealthy, non-working person decides it'd be profitable to them to allow us to get any more of our lives to ourselves, this is how it's going to stay…
I’m quitting my job after 11 years
I started my job as a Friday help, maybe something weekends… got upped to every weekend and Tuesdays. went from that to full time during summer to 60 percent during off season. when my former boss left and I got a new one in 2015 I got to be her substitute when she went on her vacation. I was her second hand. sometimes even just her, cause we matched so well together. She's from the States, I'm Norwegian (and we are in Norway ) she retired in January, I took over her job for 3 1/2 months cause work doesn't actually put out notice of jobs before they have to.. (it's fucking hell but they say saving money, although they managed to “save 56 million NOK” in things” I've been the sub for her, I've had the responsibility for 5 locations, 70 people and++ I am the one who people…
Work gift for employees
Tbh would have had gotten nothing instead.
Okay, so I’m not a loan officer and have no desire to be one. But this company is doing well, or it was. Since the post-pandemic market collapse/cooking period, we aren’t doing even 10% of the loans we were doing before so I don’t have as much work. Even if I was working overtime like we were three years ago, I still would not be able to afford a mortgage on even the lowest priced houses in our market. So today I’m asked to help one of our LO’s (mid sixties) develop a series of tiktoks targeted at my demographic to get us to do mortgages with this company. I laughed in their face. “Are you serious? My demographic, single women in Utah can’t afford a mortgage. Most couples in Utah cannot afford a mortgage together and still live. My demographic are moving, or they’re killing themselves to work enough…
This week I was scheduled for two different 3hr shifts (5-8). I had complained about the first 3hr shift to a supervisor, and she agreed it was weird and asked me to come in at 3:30. That day however, we were done by 6:45 so i essentially only worked a 3hr shift. Plus, let’s say I didn’t happen to complain, would that mean I would have only worked from 5-6:45?? With traffic, commute to and from work is about an hour, so a 3hr shift is just not worth it. How do I tell my boss that it’s just not feasible for me?
A good friend of mine just recently got hired at McDonald's. He has been working there 1 week, and from what it sounded like he was doing good. But then, they had him training a new employee who has autism, and he hadn't even been working there a full week yet. They wont tell him his schedule, in fact they took him completely off the schedule without saying anything and now they're telling him to stop swearing (idk if swearing is usually a big deal, but that sounds like its more of a personal preference than a policy to work at a damn McDonald's). I dont know, to me it just sounds unfair of them to do that to him and he's pissed about it. I hope it makes sense im not the best at explaining stuff all the time Is that unfair though?
