Paid Sick Time

I work as a contract remote CSR and I noticed a couple weeks ago that I had accrued some sick hours. I wasn't feeling well some weeks later, and took the day off. When I asked the hr person who did our training how I can use my sick hours, they said contractors don't get sick hours. I'm based in NY and the company is in MD, so I don't know how that impacts the situation. A job I had before this one was also contract in NY, but you had paid sick hours. I'm not going to lie, this job sucks and I apply to everything in hopes of getting out. A job I had before this one was also contract in NY, but you had paid sick hours. I'm not going to lie, this job sucks and I apply to everything in hopes of getting out. When I did retail and my previous job, I never knew when my days off would be or shift times each week until the schedule dropped.
