Parents at each others throats in the comments of a reel about sending kids to daycare while sick.

Half of the comments are saying, “Of course we don't WANT to send them, but we HAVE to. Daycare still charges for days the child is home sick, and work won't pay us for days off.” The other half are saying “It's extremely selfish to ever send a sick child. You're just making other people's children sick and putting them in the same situation as you are in.” NONE of them are saying “We are a community, and the system is the problem”! Sick days should be government subsidised so the parents aren't charged when their children stay home. Carer's leave should be protected, unlimited and paid. We just came out of a pandemic, and we are forced back into a system that is notorious for spreading disease. And the poor educators are forced to be nurses, watching fevers rise and noses run and waiting for the disgruntled, stressed parents to leave work early and pick up their kids, only to see that illness spread to their entire class, themselves and their own kids.

I don't know ANY parents who have a choice when it comes to daycare. The community needs to stop attacking itself and start organising.
