So, I have a new job, pretty good. A bit of a learning curve.
We only had about a month of training. And are now in our 4th of 8 weeks of on-the-floor experience before being “official”.
Problem is, I'm behind, way behind. I keep getting conflicting statements about “This is training, make mistakes, ask questions” and then when I do it's “You should know this already, we went over this” mostly from one of my three instructors. He's the main one and is constantly wording things in a belittling manner. Stated multiple times he didn't even want to train us.
“We went over this multiple times,” or “As I said before” or “Did you even take notes?” are just a few of the email responses I'll get to questions I ask.
Admiddintly, I fell behind. I was in a bad environment, had the stress of a state move, a family crisis. However, it's extremely disrespectful and demeaning as I've been nothing but respectful with this person. I've been considering using EAP because I've been so stressed, and this is just icing on the shit-cake.
I have a meeting with them later today and I don't know if I can handle the passive-aggressiveness without lashing out. What should I do?
