Paternity Leave (or lack thereof)

TLDR: What’s your company’s paternity leave policy? Welp, I left my cushy state job with over three months of sick leave saved up for a consulting job in the space industry. All that glitters is not gold – I knocked up my wife and my consulting firm has a five sentence paternity leave policy that basically defaults to state and federal regs. In the great state of Utah, there is not any paternity leave. I don’t qualify for FMLA because I haven’t been with the company for a full year. My option? Use my PTO, which will be about 40 hours, plus borrow up to another 40 hours. After that, it seems like they will be ‘flexible’ with unpaid time off. That is, if a government shutdown doesn’t force me to use it sooner.
