Pay Raise Tips, Graphic Designer based in Nyc – Update

They came back to me today telling me they're willing to accommodate my request BUT at the end of the year. It's almost May and we're talking about 8 months which doesn't sound like that much based on your entire life but right now it is a lot. Who knows if 8 months from now I'll be in New York, with the same job; what would happen if my boss or her boss will no longer be with the company? I've asked for something written about this agreement but the answer wasn't that clear to me. “Trust us”, ok I can trust you but 8 months from now anything could happen.. I would like to negotiate at least…

I would like to negotiate at least for the fully remote position – which doesn't require them to allocate any extra money – and a smaller raise. What do you think, is it a good idea?
