So I had a chronic medical issue flare up suddenly and had to go to the doctor a few times. Well, the last time it occurred, I got suspended for 3 days unpaid. My manager said that I should get FMLA in place to protect myself from further discipline. She said my suspension would be overturned with pay if I could have the FMLA backdated. I did so. Then I waited 6 weeks to get paid. The whole time, the payroll person was stone walling me, acting indifferent to my inquiries and stating she didn't know when I'd get paid. I did all the following up and provided all the proof they needed to overturn the suspension. Finally, I got another manager involved and he said I'd be paid next check. Next check comes, I'm only paid for 16 hours instead of 24. In our company, all suspensions are 3 days. Inquired with payroll person again and she tried to blow me off. Finally she said it was my fault I got suspended in the first place. I told her that was no longer the issue and that I did what my managers told me to and followed company policy to get things overturned. She said there was nothing she could do. I complained to the GM and she was gonna cut me a check but then payroll person magically was able to have me paid electronically with a day. She was dragging her feet on the whole thing for weeks because of some personal issue. Now she is trying to say I've established a pattern of call outs for doing so on two Tuesdays 4 weeks apart.
