I work from home and had some issues with my PC. I had voiced that it was very very very slow many times before this happened. One morning I was about 3 minutes late logging in, but my PC didn't want to even let me timestamp much less join the remote meeting. I couldn't even text my sup at the time that I was late due to equipment because my phone had died. First time this has ever happened. I got in at 913 and was told sorry, I'm being issued “half a point” because I couldn't text her before my shift thanks to a small oversight in charging. I had plugged in my phone but the cord had come loose.
No one before this had told me what to do to fix it. Finally got IT to help and now I'm not having issues. Even with this as proof, she won't remove the point. I have 1.5 and you can be fired for 2 – I refused to reschedule a dentist's appointment because she made everyone come in two hours early so she could leave early to go trick or treating. I will happily take THAT point… But this .5 is because they can't even properly maintain a machine before sending it to their agents and they kept saying my internet was the problem. It wasn't and never was.
Any suggestions on how to handle this…
And if you know of any other WFH jobs I can startapplying for, PLEASE let me know. This is sort of the worst job I've had in awhile.
