Picked up some shifts at another store. Been here 2 days and I’m calling the health dept. tomorrow

(On mobile, sorry for any formatting fuckups) I came in today and a coworker said “check the temp of the beef.” So I walk in to the oddly balmy fridge, look at the thermometer stuck in the beef chunks, and it’s 51 degrees. The meat is 51 degrees. The ridiculous part is that the fridge works perfectly fine. It’s just that there’s, apparently, been no A/C in the entire store for 3 weeks. In coastal Texas. In summer. It is a wonderfully balmy 84 degrees and the fridge can’t keep up and frankly, neither can I standing next to a gigantic oven. So I’m not coming in tomorrow either. 9 hours of 80+ weather standing next to an oven for 11.50 an hour? Nah. And no, I was not informed ahead of time there was no A/C. That just happened to slip my DM’s mind when asking me to cover,…

And no, I was not informed ahead of time there was no A/C. That just happened to slip my DM’s mind when asking me to cover, I suppose.
