Poured my blood, sweat and tears into my new job and discovered they posted my job position online yesterday.

I’ve been working for my employer for the last five months and was never given a job description even after asking multiple times. I was given a pretty good base salary, and was told I’d have additional monthly bonus structures as well… which never happened. I was told my role would be hybrid/field, but with constant turnovers, short staffing, zero structure – my employer constantly relied on me to hold down the fort. I worked over 60+ hours a week, covering multiple people’s roles, taking on extra work, getting sick every month for about two weeks each month and still coming in to work with a fever and a mask. I went from having a work-life balance, eating 3 meals a day and coming home on time – to eating only dinner because the amount of work I was expected to complete did not give me time to take a lunch. Skipping 2 meals a day and running on water/coffee has made me lethargic and also has negatively affected my personal life.

I was completing the work of 3 people while still being responsible and expected to complete my own duties.

The company has now hired a few new people to take back on the roles I was covering, however for some reason I am still doing the work. I’ve expressed some concerns and asked for support and have not received it. I don’t feel seen or heard.

Last week I saw a job posting online that sounded very similar to my role, and decided to ask my supervisor if it was for my position. The company of course denied it, and said it was to fill a role for another employee in another building of theirs. It made sense after they explained, but I still felt uneasy.

After that, someone from the corporate office proceeded to gaslight me on how I found that job posting in the first place, and that they are now wondering about me. I let them know I receive junk email from job sites like LinkedIn and Indeed and receive recommendations on jobs that I may qualify for.

Today, I saw a new job posting was recommended to me for a position that is very similar to my current role, at a “confidential” company. My employers recruiter is not very creative, and used the same description as the first job posting… but this time had more specific keywords that convinced me it’s for my job.

I assume they’re under the impression I’m quitting so they’re looking for my replacement, or they are planning to terminate me and now they’re being more discreet because I caught them posting my job the first time.

I’ve been feeling so anxious and having a hard time trying to figure out where to go from here. Do I work the bare minimum and wait to be fired? Do I quit? Do I bring up what I saw again to my supervisor?
