So I work in a small cluster of about 5 clinics on the administrative side. I recently found out that my equal in a neighboring clinic was promoted to a higher position.
This, in spite of the fact that we see each clinic’s quarterly metrics for our particular position and this guy has the worst performance record. He’s also not contributed anything at Zoom meetings. On top of that he was hired AFTER most of us. Maybe it’s because he’s the only man? Maybe he took our boss out golfing or primped boss’s feathers? Anyhow, it’s b.s. Promotions in general are b.s. because you can make and exceed all the metrics and never get jack shit for it except a Chick-Fil-A appreciation dinner (of their cheapest sandwich btw) or a stupid Starbucks cup.
Even the person who was promoted as our regional administrative head is incompetent. She drops the ball all of the time and mixes up information. All she does at meetings is sink into her computer and checks out of reality. Lastly, she hates when people ask her questions….(that’s part of your job description isn’t it?)
The ultimate stupidity is that even if you do happen to win the ladder lottery you’re just rewarded with a workload that requires more overtime and a LITTLE more lifeless money. I feel like we’re just a pack of greyhounds at the track working to capture that stupid fake bunny on a rod while justifying the abuse along the way.
