I've always kinda felt like bosses tend to be harder on whoever works the hardest and go easier on people who don't or can't work as hard as an effort to keep the status quo but now I'm fucking certain and I don't even think they do it knowingly.
After literally 4 years of my boss shitting at me over every little detail no matter how hard I work (and despite the fact that I'm always given the lion's share of the physical work because I'm the biggest and youngest person here), I decided to stop working as hard and as fast, even taking longer bathroom breaks since she's gonna give me shit anyways(no pun intended). At first it was pretty much the same thing they'd give me shit over every little thing but eventually they toned it down A LOT and weirdly enough, even started being friendlier with me during work hours. Slowly my workload was decreased and now everything gets done at the same speed as before but everyone else has to work a little harder, or AT ALL I should say for some. Basically it's been about 6 months and I haven't heard any complaints in literal weeks. It's been great tbh and I'm alot more excited to come into work and my back doesn't hurt every second of the day.
Anyways today was annual employee evaluation day. Not only did I get 5 stars in every category which has NEVER happened, in the manager notes they specifically wrote that my work ethic has improved dramatically in recent months???? Are you fucking shitting me??????? Like am I wrong to be more than a little annoyed and bordering on actually being pissed off?
