Put in my notice, got fired so I wouldn’t get bonus.

I am a Ux/Ui designer, I was working for a company and at the three year mark. I was paid about 12-15k under the average rate for my experience and job duties, not counting the many other duties I had to take on. I had professional conversations with my boss multiple times about salary, and remote work, and he wouldn’t budge on either, and said it was “out of his hands”. Also, said I shouldn’t get to work remote because the folks in the manufacturing plant couldn’t… and that I wasn’t really part of the development team so it was fine that they had one remote day a week and I had none. We also had no sick leave, and the basic 10 pto days a year. I put in my notice, on good terms, after accepting an offer with a 25k pay increase, full remote, and 15 pto days…

I put in my notice, on good terms, after accepting an offer with a 25k pay increase, full remote, and 15 pto days a year.

I left for the day and after about 20 minutes got a call telling me not to come back, and that my coworker friend would bring me my things, only to find out the next business day that the company sold and they were giving every employee $1k for every year worked at the company as a thank you for getting it to where it was. I would have received $3k.

I had good conversations with my boss, hr, and several c-suite folks and all seemed fine. The only person left to make that call to basically fire me was the CEO, whom I’ve barely met or talked to.

Your company doesn’t care about you. Don’t put in notice, use your friends as references, burn those bridges.
