I got a job where I will finally be using my college degree and I put in my two weeks. I saw someone use a “sorry for your loss” card for it and thought it was funny. I naturally decided to do it this way. My current job is in construction and the culture around here has always been joking and messing with each other. I figured it would be funny to make a joke out of my two weeks as a light hearted way of quitting. My foreman had to have a meeting regarding my notice. Keep in mind I told them I was very thankful to have worked for such a fantastic company. In the meeting they said they thought about not letting me finish out my two weeks because of it, they asked if they really needed me (they do because we need at least 4 people to do what we do). I honestly cannot understand how they are so angry about a light hearted joke.
