Question about annual leave

Hi, The company that I work for is changing its annual leave policy and I'm concerned by the direction they are taking. The company is an Education Tech firm and we work closely with schools. I've been with the company 5 years and they have now decided that taking annual leave during the school term is no longer an option. The team is small so people taking time off does make things a little difficult, but not impossible to manage. I'm worried about this restriction, as there are days that I'd like to take off that don't coincide with school holidays (i.e. half terms, Christmas, easter and summer break). Am I being insensitive to the nature of the company and the realities of working in a small team? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
