Not sure if this is the correct reddit pages to ask work related questions like this but internet research only brings me so far when I'm just not that sure on terminology.
So I work for a company in Virginia that drives to various locations and does service related things to those locations. We do not require signatures during specific days, however a single day we are required to get store signatures, It has now been brought to our attentions, if you do not turn in a signature sheet at the start of the week you won't be paid for that days work.
No sheet I guess shows we didn't work? Ok I guess that's legal since there's no way to show proof of the day worked?
We were then told that sheets also needed every box filled with a signature or you would also not be paid for the day. My question is, is this legal? If 5 out of 10 boxes have a signature, I'm still showing proof of work for that day even if the piece of paper is incomplete can I still have pay taken from me that day? I'm not sure on Virginia laws and what I have looked up don't necessarily answer the question I have. I don't appreciate my pay being threatened like anyone would, and if it happens I would like to be prepared with the correct knowledge to taken steps further. Any other information just ask if this isn't the right reddit page I apologize.
