I (28m) have worked in Procurement/Supply Chain for the past 4 years. The past two years were great, I learned the processes quickly, became a Team Lead after eight months, promotion after ten and within 18 months another promotion and I was moved up to an Approving Official (where I oversee a team, review their work, etc)
I have contacts at another location, who was offering a 10% raise to do similar work….I took it and now it’s been five weeks and I believe I made a mistake. It’s similar work, but I don’t like management, the processes and other things, also I am no longer an Approving Official but now I am back down where I was 18-24 months ago (job wise, but not pay)
I had a corporate meeting this past week and bumped into a guy I’ve known for a while, got to talking and told me about a job opening in another department (Technical Acquisition Specialist) which I’ve always been interested in. I’m being proactive and jumping at the opportunity, and I plan to leave my current position after only 6-7 weeks. I don’t feel bad at all towards my current team/supervisor and I’d rather leave now before I get too trained up and part of the team.
I had something good before this and I regret leaving. I loved my position, team, work and location but now I feel neglected to even work at my new place. Fingers crossed I can switch to this new department very soon 🤞
