Yesterday I quit my corporate position at a start up coworking and networking space in Manhattan.
After a lengthy work trip earlier this week, I was submitting my receipts for reimbursement and my CEO accused me of fraud for asking for things to be reimbursed for the trip (mind you we were told to submit these receipts)
I wasn’t fired but I was asked to leave the space for the day – leaving me completely humiliated. Later that night my partner told me this standing abuse could no longer continue. I’ve been miserable for months from these strange and random outbursts from my CEO but I couldn’t really see it all come together until last night.
I’m young but I feel like I screwed over my chances of any career in New York.
