Quit my job last week – partly out of spite ;-)

I’m approaching retirement age and work for a large company with a good salary. Problem is that I hate my manager and have zero respect for them. We have had disagreements, but things got a little more escalated recently when I questioned their management decisions (not even publicly….just with them…and to be fair…yes, I have a loud mouth….but never a personal attack….just on business stuff)….and next thing you know, there’s a warning from HR. Ok. I get it. Thin skin. Wants to put me in my place. So I call my investment advisor…and he’s like “you can walk out whenever you want.” He had my cash flow laid out from now til death with a fair chunk left over…and I thought….I don’t need this. I’ve seen too many people in their mid to late 50’s freakin drop dead, and I’m not up for it. So I quit. I could have…

So I quit. I could have played along and took the crap from them…but I wasn’t in the mood. Best part is…I’m going to make sure all of her petty criticism of me is sent to the entire team on my last day. Fine. I’m out, but you can sit here and ROT while everyone talks behind your back about what a crap manager you are.

Don’t mess with someone who doesn’t have anything to lose.
