As an accountant, i go on vacation right before our audit season starts, did so again this year. On my vacation, one day, I was bombared with calls/texts to get stuff done WHILE on vacation so that the accounting manager can check the work so that when HE goes on vacation the following week, it is completed and checked. Mind you, we have 3 week till our books need to be closed and I ALWAYS get my stuff done.
After my vacation, i was going to give in my 2 week notice since i had landed a new job but was going to finish all year end/audit stuff beforehand. After this behavior, Sunday night comes, sent an email out to the CEO and HR, filing a complaint and calling out the CFO and accounting manager for their behavior and resigned immediately.
I did nothing that was asked of me WHILE on vacation and I feel 0 guilt about it.
Wonder how much the accounting manager enjoyed his vacation .
