If working isn't going to get us anywhere but 1 paycheck away from homelessness and starvation, shouldn't we just try something else like starting a commune? Do a crowd fund campaign, buy a large chunk of land somewhere, invite contributors to come live/work there.
I believe non profits can apply for tax exempt status, so they don't pay property taxes. That would help with yearly costs.
I know a big problem with communes is that members don't earn much money, which sucks for whenever they decide to leave. A cool theme might help bring in visitors, get some extra revenue. There's a farm outside of Omaha NE that does a Junkstock a couple times a year. Brings in a ton of people, and they charge $15 to get in.
Would anyone here drop their lives and go live off the land? lol
