Quitting my job this week

Expecting an offer later today and will be quitting the most toxic job I've ever had. Apparently, I'm supposed to give a months notice, though we are in an at will state. The stayed repercussions is that failure to do so will affect future recommendations but I'm not worried about it. Consulting the handbook and there IS a line I am worried about: “An employer is not required to pay the full salary in the initial or terminal week of employment, or for weeks in which an exempt employee takes unpaid leave under FMLA. In these circumstances, either partial day or full day deductions may be made.” Does this mean they can not pay me my full salary for my last week?
