This is primarily for funsies – but kinda not.
Here's a list of the immediate ones I came up with – feel free to add your own. I'd love to hear them.
Moving forward – here's how the “aggression will not stand, man”.
- The quality of my work is contingent on the quality of the organization and compensation.
- My availability is non-negotiable or an estimate. I may put work first, but it is not my life.
- My worth isn't contingent on my pay or productivity. All labor is valid labor.
- Seniority is not Superiority. Experience and growth garner respect.
- You get who you pay for.
- I do not finance the work which purpose it is to sustain me.
- Work relationships are transactional – and I do not owe further transactions beyond my expected transaction. (I don't have to return my pay as gifts, cards, or finance personal relationships)
- Having personal boundaries is not having a bad attitude – it's having a good therapist.
- I am not a failure to leave a toxic workplace.
- I work with my health issues, but not during a health crisis. I will respect mine and others' health as much as feasibly possible.
- I check my email when I have to.
- I will not respond to work texts outside of work hours unless compensated.
- I'll take all days off to improve working conditions, I will not come in on days off to work in shit conditions.
- I will not work for anyone who makes life more work for me.
- I owe an employer concise communication — not two weeks notice.
- I will not labor beyond what denigrates my energy/time/resources/person.
