My coworker’s and I are all salary and make the same, one of my coworkers has been at the company for 12 years and there’s only been 2 raises in that whole time. No yearly raise, no real Christmas bonus all while other company locations (we’re all governed separately so they have the right to not do the same things) get more PTO and much more perks and money.
Moral has been low since new unqualified management was hired, they’re horrible at their job which sucks because the person they replaced was amazing and everyone loved them so it was a big disappointment for everyone.
Anyway, my coworkers and I rallied and boosted each other up. We realized we’re all on the same page and feel we deserve more money for the huge increase in workload we have all experienced.
A coworker asked for a raise not long ago and was only told “ oh I don’t think that’s a possibility but we’ll see”
So during a staff meeting called to discuss how to increase staff morale a raise was suggested to which the most senior person in the room legitimately askeed in front of everybody “ how would that boost morale “ and followed up with saying they have nothing to do with that and to go to the board with the request.
So we did go to the board with a written request from a good number of staff and were told to go back and ask that same member of anagement.
So we did except the person who handed in the written request is the only one being addressed and asked to attend another meeting to discuss the situation with the senior staff. The person who handed in the written request even asked to have the other staff invited to attend the meeting as they were also involved in the request, this was ignored and now the uppers want a meeting with this person later this week.
It’s like a big Circle jerk and a really intimidating situation that the staff doesn’t know how to address.
