Raise Swept under the rug

This'll probably get buried but I just needed to vent. So, I started a new job a little over a year ago. Overall its a great fit for me. I applied myself, learned new skills, and came in on days off just to help this company meet its metrics. Fast forward to this year we get a company email saying raises /reviews have been scheduled for July. July comes and goes and I don't hear a peep. I basically have to pester my manager to see whats going on. He throws a review together (positive btw). But when the raise comes up he basically said it already happened but when I checked, (without getting too specific but i live a fairly high cost of living area that i moved to for the job), its not even close to keeping up with inflation. I basically have to pester my manager to see whats going on. He throws a review together (positive btw). But when the raise comes up he basically said it already happened but when I checked, (without getting too specific but i live a fairly high cost of living area that i moved to for the job), its not even close to keeping up with inflation. When I brought this up to him he basically said the higher ups did the same to him.

To top it off and the the straw on the camels back for the story the office had the nerve to throw a bbq as a morale booster as if that makes all better.

tldr: I really do like this job but what reason do I have to go the extra mile if this is the thanks I get?
