I finished my second week of back to office, and I'm over it.
Got hired as remote-first with “flexibility.” Now our CEO wants us back in office 3 days a week minimum.
We had a WeWork and they opted to rent another office that was more expensive, but had more room.
I'm in tech support, so I take a lot of calls. The salespeople are utterly rowdy and the office is open-concept, extremely noisy. Our clients can't hear me over the background noise on calls, and I can't hear them.
The internet in the office is shit. It's constantly going down or slowing down to a crawl.
I literally can't do my job properly because of being forced back to office, what a fucking joke.
All this on the heels of being led on by a “promotion” that ended up being a pay-cut. I refused it, obviously, and they had the balls to be shocked by that refusal.
Now they try to milk me for whatever extra work or competency they can without any kind of reward.
The cherry on top is my boss asked me in my first week what name I preferred to be called by. He's decided to call me the one I VEHEMENTLY protest. Now the whole office calls me that.
I honestly wish the whole place would catch fire and go bankrupt.
Oh yeah, and our clients are the people responsible for fucking up the economy and the world.
