I work in the kitchen
My contract initially says that the end of the contract is in January, however, my boss tolded me that now they don't need me there, that they are going to give my hours to another people. Then when I checked the calendar I saw that my last day is the 24 of September. I feel kind of bad because I've been working there only a month and I don't think I did so terrible but i know that maybe they didn't like that I didn't do much, like they expected that when I got nothing to do in my area, I should go in other area to help another college. The thing is that every time I go and asked if they needed help they tell me no so often times I was doing nothing because my place it's like entries plates it's not the main thing.
I think that was the only problem and it bothers me because I am good even in busy days but now you are telling me that they don't need me in Halloween or Christmas?
He gave me the excuse of “you are gonna work less hours so you are not gonna learn in time the new menu and also is gonna be busy” I think I proved that I can work well even if it's busy like I almost never need help. I fell like he put in doubt my competency and I take offense on that, it's on me that maybe I didn't demonstrate like interest in other areas but in my area I'm the best, so the me the “busy” it's an excuse.
I think is better for them or cheaper to pay more hours to someone who is working longer than pay a hole salary to me.
I kind of lost confidence in myself but at the same time I know I have some responsibility on the fact.
Also, the very first day when the su-chef was showing me how to flip the pasta with the sauce, of course my first ever try, he told the chef that “she's not ready”.
Dude it's my first day and that was my first try you were teaching me.
I don't know what else they expected of me, I don't know if I should bother ask them my last day why was the reason for not even let me work till the end on my contract.
