Rant: Somebody who comes into the office maybe 3-4 times a year scowled when people were leaving at 3pm

I work for a publicly traded corporation worth billions of dollars and ever since Covid hit myself and a handful of others that I'm aware of have been fighting to keep being able to work from home as much as possible. My boss is pretty cool about things and allowed me to continue working from home as needed for my life schedule. I come in 3 days a week which is fine for me right now. For the past 3+years our facility basically cuts off shipping after 2:30 unless its an emergency and I typically do not need to be on site once this occurs as I can continue working from home if need be (I don't really ever need to continue). In any case, I make sure the job I'm hired to do is done and in order whether I'm working a full week or taking some time off…

Yesterday, this guy, obviously from the old school mindset that royally fucked America's workforce over looked shocked when the office had considerably less employees at around 2:40. I looked at him and mentioned “time to go home” in a thumbs up approval since he's rarely ever there and doesn't know what its like here. 10 minutes later I am getting my laptop and backpack and heading out the door, he looks at me and scowls in a disproving fowl face while his old ass wondered how the multi billion dollar corporation is going to survive with people leaving so early and not working 50, 60, 70 hours a week in order to justify their job to other people by staying in the office long hours instead of actually exhibiting actual productivity. I said have a good one! Then I thought about him the rest of the day and this putrid mindset the boomer class has that fucked up this once fertile land of opportunity, turning it into a dystopian hell hole. I will take what I want, when I want, how I want and it will be at the expense of these corporations, and if that means I'm taking off at 2:45 in the afternoon when I have to come in the office, I'm going to do it. If you don't do that, then you're just a part of the problem. That is of course, as long as you're able to. (Disclaimer – salaried position)

I reckon the boomers sold themselves short because they had all the economic advantages that we don’t have anymore, bit let it be known, they sold out and fucked everyone else over in their process with their geriatric whorish work ethic in which they merely appeared to be productive by sitting at their desk fucking shit up 10+ hours a day.
