I work for an MSP. This role is about 75% on-site at client sites, 25% remote/admin work.It's a small company and WFH is offered seemingly at random to the whole company, this benefits the employees that do not travel to clients, however it seems to always fall on days that I am assigned to a site visit, so I can't use it.
I'm allowed to request WFH on days where I have no scheduled visits or meetings, though this is often rejected for arbitrary reasons such as being 10 minutes late to a client visit last week that is over 60km away (the client doesn't give a shit, and I just stay 10mins over the alloted time anyway).
The office is a 40km drive in a very congested asian city, meaning a denied WFH request = 3 hours in the car that day, just to perform tasks, at a crappy desk on my laptop, that I can do 100% more effectively from home on my workstation.
I'm in my car probably 12 hours+ a week and it's killing me mentally and physically and these denied WFH requests on days where there is absolutely no reason for me to be in the office are infuriating and make me want to scream. They use this to 'punish' me for things i cannot control.
