Red flag?

Im on probation as a new hire at 16/hr full time, no benefits. My immediate manager whose training me in the processes and procedures has been snippy and icy. My daughter was sick last week and this week i took a day off and now they are saying they are going to need a doctors note or I'm going to be written up. Long lengthy text from them also about attendance being important. Im thinking its a bad sign, the pay is already low. The reason why I took the job is because i needed to leave teaching for health reasons (im tired of catching kids illnesses, student violence toward teachers, plus school shooting fears) so i know i need to be retrained into other skill sets, so I figured it would be acceptable to take a pay cut to learn these type of office skills. However, i am not happy. Manager seems to be irritated about my lack of ability, backstabbing and passive aggressive behavior.

The sick note or a write up was the last straw for me though.
