I was recently laid off then I was hired as contract per diem employee with the same company. Now, there is a full time position available for exact same job title I was doing for the last 15 years with the company.
I applied for the position, now I have to go in for the interview. Mind you, the job is exact same title that I was doing for last 15 years before being laid off. HR told me apply like I'm an external candidate. Weird? I thought opportunities are given to internal candidates first.
My question is, is this a set up? Is the company trying to say they did the part by giving “fair opportunity”? I feel like the decision has been made already about me.
