I’m a contingency worker at a huge tech company and I’ve been working here for 17 months. After I hit 18 months I’ll be laid off because that’s policy. My manager swore to me I would get a permanent hire offer and that I shouldn’t worry or look for other work. Well turns out he lied out how much clout he has and the position went to others on different shifts. This is after months of praise and assurance that I’m the one for the job and at the top of the hiring list. This fucking piece of shit told me he doesn’t understand why I’m so upset. These people don’t care about you. You’re just a number to them. Middle management is comprised of nothing but class traitors and will fuck you over to get a pat on the head from their overlords.
