I'm currently the maintenance director at a retirement community. After six months of pure exhaustion from being overworked I moved my way up the chain of shitheads to try and get at least some temporary help due to falling behind on some important tasks.
I finally got the vice president to come out and I showed him around the building explaining the amount of work that needs to be done and how not having help will cause issues in the future.
He was the most arrogant m effer I've ever met and he talked the whole time about his horse ranch and classic cars.
The next day I get an email about how I need to complete training tasks on the things that needed to be done. This moron either didn't care or didn't realize the issue was that we are under manned and thought instead that I just didn't know how to do the work.
He said we need to cut down on outside venders. So instead of them spending money on help he saw this as an opportunity to save more money via me doing even more work. All the while I'll be spending time on training instead trying to keep up with the building.
Just amazing how greedy and out of touch these sub humans are. 🤦️
