Response to not approving holiday.

I don’t know if this belongs here as it’s actively part of work, but here goes. My partner has recently had holiday declined because they need them to sort some accounts – of course they need her to sort some accounts, that’s what she’s paid to do in both money and holiday days! I know in an ideal world work shouldn’t be able to decline holiday. But in lieu of that then a manager should have to write a penalty statement about the implications of that specific person not being in on those specific days, as well as give an attempted plan to overcome the absence. Unless the plan is completely unworkable, then time off must be approved. I, maybe naively, believe this change in approach would see more time off being approved.
