Basically what the title says. I had to leave early one day this week due to illness and I also had to call out one full day this week. I put in for sick time but it was denied because I was already at 41 hours by the end of the week. In my opinion, this bullshit practice is unethical, but is it illegal in Rhode Island? I haven’t found anything regarding this specific aspect of sick time use on any Rhode Island government website.
