Antiwork

Richman north of Richmond

I think this is such a great song with one giant flaw. Before I comment on the flawed verse (I hope we all know which one I'm talking about already), I want to say that the first part of this song hits me every time I hear it and it perfectly sums up the hopelessness I feel working 45-60 hours every week and never being able to save any money. I genuinely believe this song is the anthem of the working class. The only problem I have with the song is the unnecessary attack on poor people using welfare. Anyone that needs welfare is on our side. We need to unify the working class instead of letting politicians keep us divided. The lyrics of the song easily could have continued to call out the rich for bleeding the poor dry by talking about how corporations and CEO's use welfare for themselves in the form of bailouts and PPP loan forgiveness.

Over-all, great song. But Oliver Antony Music needs to keep focus on the real leeches on society and don't encourage division among the poor.
