I applied for a role that I was referred to at a huge conglomerate with mega-insane brand power. Immediately, an AI bot told me to answer some basic qualifications questions.
I must have passed because they told me I had three days to complete a sample of several hundred behavioral questions, answer questions about a sample case reflecting the job (involving intermediate business math), and record two videos answering their questions.
I wasn't sure how I had done but assumed I had done alright because I was passed along to the recruiter round — finally getting to speak to someone face to face.
Except they had their camera off.
Except they asked me THE SAME QUESTIONS the AI had asked me.
And they said “thank you very much, we'll be in touch” — signifying no further interviews. Which was later confirmed by an automated email.
Why pay gobs of money for a system that is meant to help recruiters when they don't even use it!??! What a fucking waste of my time. It ruined my whole week as I re-prioritized my own personal shit as I really wanted this job. Terrible candidate experience!
