Sacked because I didn’t meet targets.

As the title says I’ve recently been sacked because I didn’t meet targets apparently. I’ve only been here four months. But we make a loss 6 months a year because of the type of business. We aren’t into profit period yet and I increased earnings in the last 4 months by an average of 20% compared to last year. To hit profit in these known and expected non profit times id have to increase it by 40%. In my meeting today I was told these targets are why I’m being released. But as I break it down, first 6 weeks I was explicitly restricted to shadow shifts so I cannot be responsible for increasing revenue in that period. Weeks 6-10 I increased revenue by 60%, meaning I enabled us to break even for the 6 weeks prior. Weeks 10-14 we steadied at 20% on last year, weeks 14-18 I never…

Weeks 10-14 we steadied at 20% on last year, weeks 14-18 I never got the figures typed up.

Part of my contractual agreement was to increase earnings by 15%. I more than met that target even in our expected loss period.

I completely overhauled SOPs, created a ludicrous amount of nee content to expand offerings.

Turns out 2 staff members have been complaining and secretly reporting everything I do. Including slander and libellous comments. When raised with GM they played dumb. Some so serious I can’t believe it’s me being sacked.

I have set this company on a trajectory for success having done an incredible amount of work to get things to standard and have been dropped to save them £30k (my salary). I work in developing teams, processes, procedures and creating the baseline of operations within outdoor sectors.

I moved my family 400 miles for this job.

They breach a variety of environmental laws and regulations so I’ve reported them.

They don’t and haven’t paid for a specific utility for over a decade. So I reported them.

They listen to and play music in public areas without a license so I’ve reported them.

My next step is to try get them shut down on H&S issues because of how they attach certain products to things.

I don’t want to put the regular staff out of work but do want to hold the GM and HR accountable for their inaction and blatantly throwing me under the bus. I’m thinking I send some people up and tell them where the safety issues are.

Am I being petty?
