Is it just me or is it a minor frustration having to use your personal device to access work computers, networks and applications via two way authentication apps like the above?
It seems as though I am getting passcodes and thumbprint identification requests all day, clogging up my messages and notifications. Sometimes these applications do not work at all and I am blocked out of my work laptop, having to call the IT department yet again. There are three different apps for my firm and they are all for different functions on the work laptop.
I'm all for participating in protecting the firm network but why is it reliant on my personal device? I know its a minor inconvenience to me but if someone else were to say “no, I will not be using my device” then there are zero alternatives.
Two way authentication seems great for personal banking and other personal applications, but again, its personal.
